Have You Ever Heard The Saying, "Rome wasn't built in a day" ?

THE Dorky Badass

The saying, "Rome wasn't built in a day" is a source of inspiration in life. This is due to the fact that in today's world and our technologically inclined society, we have everything "At our fingertips" in a sense and this creates the notion of instant gratification. Society has grown accustom to instant gratification so often, that when things or people challenge our desires of instant gratification, we are inclined to cross them off our list and replace them with the next best thing. These actions tend to leave us feeling disappointed, unsettled or unsatisfied, because we are always seeking "What's next?" instead of "What compliments me and adds to the life I'm creating?". If we constantly discard everything and everyone in life due to seeking "The next best thing," we will eventually find ourselves alone and unfilled.

Society has made it easy for us to attach our emotional well-being onto "things" instead of on ourselves and the personal happiness we create for ourselves. For example, we tend to attach our emotional well-being to social media and objects like phones, clothing, and how the world perceives us; INSTEAD of us attaching our emotional well-being to our character, healthy habits or healthy lifestyle choices (All of which have the ability to have long-lasting positive effects on our emotional well-being).

We tend to set unrealistic expectations on outside variables within our lives. If we learn how to set realistic expectations upon ourselves (the constant) then we will eventually view the world around us with a plentiful amount of satisfaction and gratification. The most important factor in adjusting our lives with this mindset is to come to the realization that, "Rome wasn't built in a day" and we must truly learn more about ourselves and our needs and desires in life in order to align ourselves with variables that amplify the satisfaction and gratification of which we are already implementing into our own lives. We must first take our time and build a solid foundation for anything we wish to see truly prosper in our lives. Take the time to nurture everything that aligns positively within your life, and you will begin to see your life transform before your very eyes!
